Just Pictures

I have had some nice comments about some of the pictures I have posted on Facebook recently. I'm glad people like them but I just take pictures of what I see just because I enjoy just taking them, so it is so nice to positive feedback. All the same, I feel I'm still have so much to learn.

What I would love to do for a change is to take some urban photographs. It not something have I really get the chance to do here, being that I'm surrounded by countryside all the time. It would be great to have the time and the money to just drive around and get some pictures of urban life for a change. The contrast with what I see day to day would be quite striking visually and it would be a little different of an experience for me.

So if the blog has, at sometime, some urban photographs from one of the nearby cities don't be surprised. It is just me trying out something different. Finally thanks for all the kind comments. I just take pictures of what I see and your comments are lovely.

Early Spring

It has been an amazing week weather wise up to now, feeling more like late spring than early spring and I have taken the opportunity to get out a little and take some pictures while the sun has been shinning.

Hopefully although the warm spell is meant to becoming to at end, hopefully this won't be the last we see of the sunshine and I will be able to get out and capture some more pictures of Rutland and the surrounding area in the weeks to come.

Autumn

With the passing or the autumn equinox, when the amount of daylight equals the amount of darkness, a couple of days ago we are well and truly into autumn now an with that has come some lovely sunsets after some indifferent days.

Hopefully I will remember to take the camera out with me and capture some of the lovely sights of the session over the next week or so. Some of the colours of leaves on the tress can be breath taking at this time of year as the green turn to yellows and reds. It is a sight I will never tire of and it for this reason that I love this time of year.

It is an ideal time for taking photograhs. This year if the weather forecasts is to be believed we still have one treat to come, a week of sunshine and warm weather starting from the middle of next week. It will be a great time to be out and about.

Rutland in the Snow

Over the 18 months I have started to take photographs of the places I visit and of course of the children for the blog. Some of my favourites are featured in the photography page to be found on the righthand side of the blog. Below are some of the pictures I have taken recently over the last few days while the county has been covered in snow.

The fishing lake just outside Langham which was once part of the Oakham Canal.

As the cold weather continues I'm sure to take more pictures of the beautiful countryside I'm blessed to live in and the surrounding area. I hope you like the pictures and if you want any of them for yourself just drop me a line and I will email the originals off to you.
