New BBC Football Homepage
It wasn't a very nice surprise coming across the new BBC sport page. After they redesigned a lot of the site I guess it was bound to happen but the new page really doesn't work as well as the old one. The football page being a massive disappointment to anyone that follows the lower league clubs, like myself.
Of course on the BBC Television and Radio they are all saying how good it is. The problem is it is harder to navigate and find your football team if they aren't in the premier league and the same is true in other sports, for example, finding county cricket scores will be harder with you having to search the menu system. There is an old adage "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" and that is the case here. The old site worked well and it was easy to find what you were looking for. The menu system was intuitive and fast. The whole site worked well on machines with limited processor power like netbooks and tablets, so why improve what didn't need improving? It is no better than it was before, in fact it is in my opinion worse.

I don't do sport, if its anything like their new home page it must be horrible
Basically they have used the same styling and same layout idea's.
What I thought was interesting recently was an article about how the Daily Mail has become one of the biggest online news papers by breaking all the rules of web design. They have managed to maximise their search rankings and draw people to the site because suff is easy to find and click on. What the BBC have done is make it harder to find things. This is clearly a step in the wrong direction.
May be the BBC should rethink what they are doing. Over the years they have removed popular features and now they are messing with something everyone loved, the layout.
Very similar to a certain councils website.
I saw that thing about the Daily Mail and looked at their site they have a huge home page, they also aim the site to a international readership a lot of USA news
http://www.mirror.co.uk/ at midnight the Daily Mirror launched new website. I think there people have been looking at the Mail Online
