The Cheap Option

This weeks menu is going to be based on getting as much out of as little money as possible.

With all the travelling around last weekend to say that money is tight is an understatement, there isn't any for anything but food. So here goes:
  • Friday - Sausages with caramelised onions with gravy mashed potatoes and broccoli and baby carrots
  • Saturday - Eggs in cheese sauce with creamed mash potatoes and garden peas and baby carrots..
  • Sunday - Steamed smoked fish with butter, with minted boiled potatoes, sliced green beans and sweetcorn.
  • Monday - Minced Beef with onions and dumplings with sliced carrots, peas and creamed mashed potatoes.
  • Tuesday - Beef Lasagne with a crispy side salad, baby tomatoes and garlic bread.
  • Wednesday - Beef Burgers with cheese with crispy side salad and potato wedges.
  • Thursday - Toad in the hole with onion gravy, carrots and a cabbage medley and creamed mash potato.
Cooking wise there is nothing to look forward to cooking as such, it is all rather standard stuff this week. Hopefully there might be a few pennies to be more creative next week.
