The Future of Rutland

With another supermarket looking to set to go for planning permission in Oakham it is clear what business want Oakham and Rutland to look like in the next ten years. It is about time we had our say and stopped what is going on before the country council and the businesses ruin what is one of the loveliest parts of the country will wall to wall housing and out of town shopping centres. Is it time that these people learn from the mistakes of the past and look at the cities with there failing city centres. 

This is it seems what is destined to happen to Oakham and Rutland and nobody cares. The council don't care and I'm sure the MP isn't bothered, so it is up to us to make enough noise before the place we live in is ruined by the developers. The power of what happens is in the hands of the people that approve the planning decisions and those are we get to elect and they are not listening. What we need to is make it clear that we don't want massive unsustainable development. What we want is a more conservative approach that sees the county growing in a more managed approach that has regard for the countryside we live in. Write to them make your views known and if they won't listen make sure they get the message at the next election. Whatever their majority we have the power to stop the mess they are going to make of Rutland.
