What Democracy

The Daily Mail headline "Day Britain stood up for democracy" made me ask myself the question "what democracy"". After last nights NO means we still have the same system that allows a MP to only have just over 33.3% to represent the area they stood in, while the other 66.6% of the people vote for him have had there votes discounted.

This is the fact behind the system we use at the moment and the system people voted to continue using. In fact for years it has been the case it takes less votes to elect a single Conservative MP than any other of any other party. It's not surprising they were leading the yes campaign. This is the system we are now stuck with for years to come.
