Just Quotes

I'm really going through a stage of famous quotes especially by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. He said:

"Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think."

The problem is he forgot to add, unless the person doesn't understand the meaning of the gift or who it is from. May be I should have listened to Zora Neale Hurston, a more modern writer, who said:

"If you want that good feeling that comes from doing things for other folks then you have to pay for it in abuse and misunderstanding."

I think she might be more to the mark after the events of today. Oh well I guess tomorrow is another day and life goes on...
